The movement of forming an Artiste Association started in the year 1939. The “Film Artistes Association of India” was in the same year and veteran artiste late Shri Sohrab Modi was its first founder President.
CINE AND TV ARTISTS ASSOCIATION (CINTAA) registered under the provisions of the Indian Trade Union Act, 1926 on 30th June 1958 and veteran actress Smt. Durga Khote was the first member to serve the Association and its members at large on honorary basis in the capacity of President. The main object of CINTAA is to safeguard the interest of its members, providing financial and medical assistance to its needy members, handling disputes of members.
As on today we have membership strength of 6500+ members and to name few of them are Shri Manoj Kumar, Shri Amitabh Bachchan , Shri Dilip Kumar, Shri Shahrukh Khan………

CINTAA hereby appeals to all its members to carry their valid cintaa cards with them at all shoots especially at Filmcity, to avoid any inconvenience because of the FWICE’s ongoing strike.
Let us extend our heartfelt condolences on the mourning caused by untimely demise of our member Mr. Gagandeep Kang and his friend and colleague Mr. Arijit Lavania.
Let us pray for their souls to rest in peace and their families the strength to overcome this tragic situation. The funeral service of Mr. Kang will held today at 4.30 pm at Hindu Shamshan, Marve road,Nr Atharva college/ Fire brigade, Charkop Naka, Kandivali (W).
Please don’t shoot on 26th Jan, 1st May and 15th Aug. These are compulsory holidays, and CINTAA never gives any production house special permission to shoot on these dates.
