Election & AGM 2017

Resolutions

Amar Banerjee

Dear Sir,

Apropos to our meeting dated 19th April 2017 we may state our reply as under:

The Executive Committee has already given detailed explanation to your panel as well as to the Honourable sessions court as to why CINTAA elections were held 15 days before the Annual General Meeting. It was further clarified that none of the above points can be termed as resolutions; these are grievances, which every member in the General Body and members of Executive Committee are aware of. Hence, the Executive Committee did not consider your request to give a speech about the same.

Thanks and deep regards

Sushant Singh

Dear Sir,

Apropos to our meeting dated 19th April 2017 w.r.t. “Deposit Amount for candidature in CINTAA elections” we may state our reply as under:

The Executive Committee stated that the resolution related to deposit amount of Rs. 5000/- was approved in 56thAGM by majority of votes of the General Body.  To the best of our knowledge, it’ll be unethical and it’ll set a bad precedent to retract previous amendments in regressive manner, except those, which have become redundant or impractical due to passage of time. Hence, the Executive Committee has not acceded to the above request.

Thanks and deep regards

The Executive Committee stated that the resolution related to delink elections from AGM was approved in 57th AGM by majority of votes of the General Body.  To the best of our knowledge, it’ll be unethical and it’ll set a bad precedent to retract previous amendments in regressive manner, except those, which have become redundant or impractical due to passage of time. Hence, the Executive Committee has not acceded to the above request.

Thanks and deep regards

Resolution approved in Special EC meeting dated 19th April 2017

Dear Members,

Executive Committee,

CINTAA

I propose that we should remove Clause 8(d) of our constitution, which reads as follows-

  1. CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP
  2. d) If he or she (member) seeks or gets employment through the Association of Film Agents.

To the best of my knowledge the said Association is now known as Cine Agents Combine, members of which are also called Suppliers and their services are used by the Producers to fulfill the requirement of Background Artistes.

As we all are well aware that several of our members are already regularly working as background artistes and it is practically very difficult to identify such members and cancel their membership, so we might as well allow them to seek regular work through CAC. Moreover at times, due to the uncertain nature of our profession, members facing financial difficulty have no other choice but to accept whatever work helps them to make ends meet. Hence, we need to evolve our membership rules keeping in view the practical reality of our times.

By removing this clause, we may in future even seek an alliance with Cine Agents Combine to help interested members. In fact, in an informal conversation with me, their Office-bearers had mentioned that they might be able to help our members in getting One-two days acting assignments as well and clear their payments on the spot. This might become a stepping-stone towards eliminating the exploitation of our members by some unscrupulous Coordinators.

For those willing to take-up assignments through CAC, the minimum per-day remuneration for such jobs could also be fixed in consultation with CAC. I feel that it might also help struggling members to meet the direction team directly and submit their bio-data as well.

Sushant Singh,

Hon. Gen. Secy.

Message 1

Dear Members,
Candidates Himayat Ali, Annu Shah, Giriraj Shukla, Amar Bannerjee and Girish Sharma filed a case in Dindoshi City Civil Court to stop CINTAA Elections, terming the move to hold elections 15 days before AGM as illegal. Today the Honourable Court, in all fairness, refused their ad interim application seeking stay of elections or appointment of a Commissioner and gave us it’s nod to proceed with the Elections on 14th, 15th and 16th April 2017. All members are requested to participate in the elections whole-heartedly.
